Sunday Morning Worship

10:30am

Sunday School for All Ages

9:00am

(September - May)

Communion for all people is celebrated on the Frist Sunday of each month and at special occasions.

Worship(noun)- to show reverence or adoration to God.

We Worship in Prayer.

Prayer is a conversation with God.  Through prayer, we express our gratitude and thanksgiving for the wonders and blessings of Earth and in this life.  And through prayer we express our fears, our sorrows and our concerns to God who is loving and gracious.  In prayer we lift up the joys and needs of ourselves, our families and friends, our church, our community and our world.  During worship we will pray together out loud and silently in the quietness of our own hearts.

We Worship in Song.

Worshipping God through music is foundational to the United Methodist tradition.  Through the singing of hymns, playing of instruments, offering of poetry readings and solo musical performances, our service is filled with the sounds of worship.  Our Sunday service offers a variety of music from hymns accompanied by our Rodgers Organ, spirit filled contemporary songs of praise, and traditional folk songs performed on guitar.  Through music we give joy and thanksgiving for the awesomeness of God.

We Worship in Communion.

Communion is the remembrance of God's love as expressed in the birth, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.   In the sacrament of Holy Communion, we join with those throughout history who have proclaimed God's love as followers of Jesus.  In our church, we celebrate an open communion - you do not need to be a member of the church, a United Methodist or have had any prior experience in order to participate and partake of the communion service.  All are welcomed to the table.

We Worship in Service.

Sunday morning is just the start of our worship experience.  As followers of Jesus Christ, his example and words found in the Bible compel us to go out into the world and show God's love.  To quote a favorite song "They will know we are Christians by our love..."  is to live out these lyrics daily.   We worship God in all we do by serving our neighbors, helping others who are in need, welcoming the stranger, feeding the hungry and caring for all of God's children.

1 Praise the Lord!
        Praise God in his sanctuary;
   praise him in his mighty firmament!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;
   praise him according to his surpassing greatness!

3 Praise him with trumpet sound;
   praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;
   praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with clanging cymbals;
   praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

-Psalms 150 (NRSV)

Come out of sadness

From wherever you've been
Come broken hearted
Let the rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You're not too far

So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are

There's hope for the hopeless
And all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There's rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't cure
