Come and Visit!

Whether you are new to the neighborhood, looking for a place to worship, or just passing by, we welcome you into our church family.

PARKING:  Parallel parking is available in-front of the church, along Middle Street.  The church lot with Handicap Parking is located immediately behind the church.   To access, turn left directly beside the church onto Westview Lane off of Middle Street.  Additional parking is available in the community parking lot on Westview Lane directly adjacent to the church lot.

ENTERING THE CHURCH:  You may enter the church through either the front or rear entrances.   The rear entrance is flat and directly beside the handicap parking. Enter the back door and continue straight ahead into the worship space.  From Middle Street you will climb the stairs and enter through the front doors directly into the church narthex.

RESTROOMS:  The main restrooms are located in the basement of the church.  Exit the worship space via the front entrance, turn left and follow the stairs down the restrooms.  A handicap accessible restroom is located just outside of the worship space on the main floor.

CHILDCARE:  A nursery or child room is located in the former balcony of the church.  With large windows overlooking the worship space and an active sound system, parents can participate in worship while providing care and entertainment for their little ones should your desire it.   However, we at Messiah UMC love children and welcome their participation in all of our worship activities.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What will happen on my first visit?

You will be greeted by other worshippers who will ask your name and want to get to know you - we're all very friendly people.  Either before or after the service, the pastor will introduce himself to you as well.  Asides from the greetings, your participation is up to you - feel free to join in or sit quietly.   Whether you are a loud singer or silent observer, we are glad you came to worship with us!

What should I wear?

Clothes. Come, just as you are.

Are children allowed at your service?

YES!  Jesus loved the little children and welcomed them into his ministry...and so do we!   It warms our hearts to hear little ones in worship on Sunday mornings.  Our Pastor will invite the children up for a short "children's sermon" before the reading of the scripture.

What if I don't have any money to give?

Church is not a country club or a exclusive, members only retreat.  We take offerings not as a payment or expectation but as a sign of gratitude to God from those who are able to contribute.

May I take communion?

All persons are welcomed to participate in the communion service as they so choose.
